Job opportunity for Incubation Manager

The challenge

Delivering to the highest expectations, you will lead the implementation of the business incubation programme which has been designed for the Oman Government.  This programme forms part of the eOman strategy and is focussed on growing innovative ICT – and significantly ICT-enabled businesses in Oman. This prestigious project is led by UK Business Incubation (UKBI) in collaboration with Coventry University Enterprises Ltd.

The role

To lead the delivery of the National ICT Business Incubation Programme which aims to nurture a pro-business environment, facilitate the growth of ICT businesses and improve SME Innovation capabilities.Its mission is to stimulate economic growth in the Sultanate of Oman through innovation, entrepreneurship, enterprise development, and technology commercialization in the ICT and significantly ICT-enabled sector, through the provision of ‘physical’ and ‘virtual’ growth support, mentoring, networking, training and physical and technological infrastructure.

There is a strong emphasis on sustainability and the handover to, and preparation of, Omani staff to continue to run the Programmeafter our ‘exit’.

The person

This is a strategically important director-level role demanding direct and extensive experience of growing businesses through business incubation. You will have in-depth, up-to-date knowledge of the sector and a successful track record in growing businesses, lobbying, influencing, building trust and networking. You will also understand the potential and power of integrating the use of ICT to support innovation across a range of business sectors.

A keen business sense and strong project management capabilities are expected. You’ll bring exemplary skills in organising, planning and teamwork.

The role requires a self motivated person with entrepreneurial instincts, drive, experience, networking skills, knowledge and understanding to deliver the programme, develop and engage the required networks and stakeholders to promote the programme, recruit, support and grow SME’s with potential. To provide added value services, mentoring and direct support to incubatees and ensure programme delivery in accordance with the contract.
