GEC2016 – Global Entrepreneurship Conference

Medellin, Columbia is hosting the 2016 edition of the GEC. Medellin is ranked number 15 as one of the “best cities to do business in Latin America” according to 2010’s América Economía magazine.
Medellin is located in the Department of Antioquia and accounts for 15% of the gross domestic product of the country. This region is characterized by its activities in mining, livestock and farming and is the main grower and exporter of banana products and coffee. It is the second largest cultivator of flowers and the first in their exportation per capita. Antioquia is also a major producer of gold in the country.

What is the Global Entrepreneurship Congress?
Thanks in part to Global Entrepreneurship Week, an entrepreneurial ecosystem has started to take shape around the world, connecting people across borders to unleash their ideas and transform innovation into reality—in turn growing economies and expanding human welfare. To support the burgeoning initiative, the Kauffman Foundation brought together the host organizations from nearly 60 nations to create the first ever Global Entrepreneurship Congress in March 2009 at its headquarters in Kansas City.
