Soft Landing Bridge at Taiwan Business Day 2015 in Utrecht

On Friday October 23, a successful fourth Taiwan Business Day in the Netherlands took place, this time in the City of Utrecht. In the presence of his excellency Mr. Tom Chou, Taipei Representative to The Netherlands, and the  mayor of Utrecht mr. Jan van Zanen, a LOI was signed between the municipality of Utrecht and a consortium of Taiwanese organisations.

Signed by President Chen-Hong Yang of the Southern Regional Business Innovation Center, Ms. Valerie Hsu, director of Taiwan Globalization Network and Mr. Albert Hutschemaekers, director of the city of Utrecht, the agreement stipulates that the parties will explore  possibilities of economic collaboration, particularly with respect to setting up a soft-landing bridge for Taiwanese startups in Utrecht. In November, a small team from Utrecht will travel to Taiwan for further talks as part of the agreement.

In presentations and animated discussions, representatives of the Taiwanese business sector in the Netherlands, Taiwanese students, Netherlands representatives from the public, the academic and the private sector exchanged experience and opinion on how to best put in place a Soft Landing Bridge.

Taiwanse youngsters have been invited to take part in Campus Party which will be hosted by de Jaarbeurs in Utrecht in May of next year. Campus Party is the world’s largest annual technology festival.
